Rubbish Removal Service Compliment Our Water Damage Approach
Our rubbish removal service may be the last part of our restoration service.
Water damaged properties vary quite a bit. Sometimes just one carpet is slightly water affected.
In other instances, a whole house is submersed in a metre of contaminated water.
When it comes to getting rid of non-restorable contents, the job requirements are again quite diverse.

Below are Two Examples of Our Disposal Service
First Example:
Water damage cause permanent damage to one bedroom carpet only.
The carpet will first be extracted to make transport easier.
Once the carpet is more manageable, it will be cut in to pieces and bagged.
Our technicians will inspect the underlay and smooth edge to determine their restorability.
In many instances these items will also be bagged.
The extent of the rubbish would allow our technicians to remove the bagged items to the nature strip or take it straight to a waste removal facility.
This then leaves us with the task of drying and sanitising the floor in preparation of a new carpet installation.
The Second Example:
A four-bedroom house is inundated by on metre of external dirty water affecting all contents and the structure of the house.
It is likely that most of the carpets and contents would be classed as non-restorable. Gyprock walls, doors, vanities and skirting boards will all be, at least, partially damaged.
Our company would likely hire a large skip. After a fully documented assessment the disposal would be tackled.
We would begin by removing all flooring. Vinyl, floating floors, carpets, underlay and smooth edge.
Room would be photographed. Carpet sizes and carpet construction noted. We would also document the underlay type.
We follow a similar procedure with contents. Noting electric device brands and serial numbers.
This is all done to get to a value-based discard list.
Gyprock walls may be cut away to assist structural drying. Insulation material would also be thrown out.
We would remove damaged skirting boards. Kitchen units and bathroom vanities as well.
All remaining floors and structures would be extensively disinfected.
All the damaged contents and structure would get thrown into a skip. Sometimes with a large property, a second skip is required.

The 3 Different Types of Water Damage

This is the easiest type of water damage for us to deal with. We use moisture meters and thermal imaging to get an accurate idea of the extent of your water ingress.

Contaminated water may pose a health threat to you and your family. Making sure the water is clean helps us complete the appropriate workplace safety assessment.
GREY WATER DAMAGE
The classification of this water damage class is perhaps the most complicated. The water can initially be quite clean.
Our technicians will look at factors to determine the water classification.
As the days go by the contamination will increase to the level where it is classed as black water instead of grey.
BLACK WATER DAMAGE
This is the most severe type of water damage. It causes significant damage to contents and structures. Most of the damage cannot be restored.
This level of water damage is best left to the professionals.
Black water can have a distinct odour. There are quite often visual markers present, thus making correct classification easy.
