More Details on Our Rug Restoration Service
Water damaged rugs can complicate our overall restoration process when they are left in place. We extract the rugs as much as possible. Once the extraction process is complete, the rugs are either moved to a dry part of your home or taken offsite.
Just like with carpets, our air movers and dehumidifiers are used to dry the rugs completely. Once the rugs are completely dry, we will deep clean and sanitise the rugs. Rest assured, your rugs quite often, will be as good as new!
Rug tassels may become damaged. Fringes may be cleaned and treated. Sometimes the tassels will need to be replaced.
Things to Consider
Some rugs experience colour bleeding. With the appropriate dye colour treatment, it is possible to remove the unsightly marks. There are instances where rugs become permanently damaged. We will document the damage. Record the rug type and size. Take photos of the rugs. Technicians will note the fibre and backing composition.
Where appropriate, Melbourne Flood Emergency will also arrange for a specialist valuer to inspect the rug. This is part of our role in providing insurance claim assistance.
You can trust our staff to perform each stage of the claim as professionally as possible. We restore carpets, mattresses, furniture and more. Our cleaning and sanitisation service will deal with every aspect of your flood emergency.
The 3 Different Types of Water Damage
CLEAN WATER DAMAGE
This is the easiest type of water damage for us to deal with. We use moisture meters and thermal imaging to get an accurate idea of the extent of your water ingress.
Professional inspection will show you the true damage.
Contaminated water may pose a health threat to you and your family. Making sure the water is clean helps us complete the appropriate workplace safety assessment.
GREY WATER DAMAGE
The classification of this water damage class is perhaps the most complicated. The water can initially be quite clean.
Our technicians will look at factors to determine the water classification.
As the days go by the contamination will increase to the level where it is classed as black water instead of grey.
BLACK WATER DAMAGE
This is the most severe type of water damage. It causes significant damage to contents and structures. Most of the damage cannot be restored.
This level of water damage is best left to the professionals.
Black water can have a distinct odour. There are quite often visual markers present, thus making correct classification easy.
