Installation of Drying Equipment – The Process

Installation of Drying Equipment at Our Disposal
We use a range of drying equipment and tools to remove water from your home.
Our fully trained Melbourne Flood Emergency technicians have the experience to choose the appropriate device.
MFE Water Drying Arsenal
- Submersible pumps.
- Extraction equipment.
- Carpet extraction wands.
- Tile extraction wands.
- Water claws.
- Automatic pump-outs.
- Air movers.
- Dehumidifiers.
Submersible Pumps
These types of pumps are only used in the more extreme water damage events. When a metre of water is standing in your home these pumps are used to remove the bulk of the water. The submersible pumps can only remove around 80% of the water in your property.
Extraction Equipment
We use extractors to remove water from carpets, tiles and other hard floor surfaces. Our equipment has a dual vac motor to greatly increase the suction power. Carpet extracting wands may scratch your hard floors. For this reason, we use a wand that has a rubber head.
Combined with our extraction we have an automatic pump-out device which allows our technicians to empty the extractor waste tank without stopping the suction process. Water claws form another part of our extraction process. It allows for very deep and concentrated carpet extraction.
Air Movers
Our air movers vary in strength. Some have only a low single setting whilst others are quite powerful. These are placed on top of the floor and in some cases, the machines are used to float carpets. Air movers are frequently used with large dehumidifiers to dry the last 5 to 10 percent of excess moisture in your home.
Dehumidifiers
Our industrial dehumidifiers will extract moisture in the air and convert the moisture into water. Inside the dehumidifier is a pump that will periodically pump water down a drain or toilet.
HEPA Air Filtration
HEPA filtration is not strictly part of the drying process. However, the machine are crucial requirement in mould remediation work and with a black water event. Our inspection process will go some way to put your mind at ease.
We Compliment Our Equipment With:
- Professional Service.
- Same Day Service.
- 7 Days a Week.
- Outstanding Workmanship.

The 3 Different Types of Water Damage
CLEAN WATER DAMAGE
This is the easiest type of water damage for us to deal with. We use moisture meters and thermal imaging to get an accurate idea of the extent of your water ingress.
Professional inspection will show you the true damage.
Contaminated water may pose a health threat to you and your family. Making sure the water is clean helps us complete the appropriate workplace safety assessment.
GREY WATER DAMAGE
The classification of this water damage class is perhaps the most complicated. The water can initially be quite clean.
Our technicians will look at factors to determine the water classification.
As the days go by the contamination will increase to the level where it is classed as black water instead of grey.
BLACK WATER DAMAGE
This is the most severe type of water damage. It causes significant damage to contents and structures. Most of the damage cannot be restored.
This level of water damage is best left to the professionals.
Black water can have a distinct odour. There are quite often visual markers present, thus making correct classification easy.
